John Wilder Tukeywas an American mathematician and statistician, best known for the development of the fast Fourier Transformalgorithm and box plot. The Tukey range test, the Tukey lambda distribution, the Tukey test of additivity, and the Teichmuller-Tukey lemma all bear his name.
