A. A. Milne (1882-1956) was an English author, best known for his creation of the beloved character Winnie-the-Pooh. He was born in London, England and attended Westminster School and Trinity College, Cambridge. After World War I, Milne returned to writing and published his first book of poetry, “When We Were Very Young” in 1924. This was followed by “Winnie-the-Pooh” in 1926, which was an immediate success. Milne wrote two more books about the adventures of Pooh and his friends: “The House at Pooh Corner” in 1928, and “Now We Are Six” in 1929. He also wrote several plays and novels, as well as several non-fiction books. Milne’s works are still popular today, and his characters have been adapted for film and television.
