Laurence Sterne was a wild and witty writer who could make even the dullest subject seem interesting. He wrote the classic novel Tristram Shandy, a hilarious book full of digressions, absurdities, and wry observations. He was a master of the comic form and a pioneer of the novel. His works are still enjoyed today, and he is remembered as one of the great masters of English literature.
