Peter Ustinov was an English actor, writer, director, and raconteur. He was born in London in 1921 and was one of the most versatile and accomplished performers of the 20th century. He was an Academy Award-winning actor, a prolific playwright, and a talented director. Ustinov was an accomplished polyglot, speaking English, German, French, Italian, Russian, and Spanish. He was renowned for his wit and charm, and his ability to portray a wide range of characters. He appeared in over 80 films including Spartacus, Quo Vadis, Topkapi, and Death on the Nile. Ustinov was also an accomplished writer and published several books including his autobiography, Dear Me, and several plays and screenplays. He was an outspoken supporter of human rights and was a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador from 1965 until his death in 2004.
