Aaliyah was an American singer, songwriter, dancer, and actress who rose to fame in the early 2000s. She was born in Brooklyn, New York, and began her career as a child model, before transitioning to music. She released her debut album, Age Ain't Nothing but a Number, in 1994, when she was just 15 years old. The album spawned a number of hit singles, including "Back & Forth" and "One in a Million". Aaliyah went on to become one of the most popular R&B and pop stars of the late 1990s and early 2000s. Her second album, One in a Million, was released in 1996, and spawned hits like "If Your Girl Only Knew" and "Are You That Somebody?". Aaliyah's final studio album, Aaliyah, was released in 2001, and featured hits like "Try Again" and "More than a Woman". Aaliyah tragically died in a plane crash in 2001, at the age of 22. She has since been remembered as an influential artist and a trendsetter in the music industry.
