India is the meeting place of the religions and among these Hinduism alone is by itself a vast and complex thing, not so much a religion as a great diversified and yet subtly unified mass of spiritual thought, realization and aspiration.

Once upon a time, there was a man named Sri Aurobindo. He was a spiritual guru and a philosopher who believed in the power of yoga, meditation and self-realization. He was an advocate of a kind of spiritual evolution, which he called the Integral Yoga. One day, Sri Aurobindo was walking down the street and saw a group of people doing yoga. He thought to himself, "Ah, these people are on the right track! But they could use some guidance - I think I'll give them a hand!" So Sri Aurobindo gave them some great advice on how to perfect their yoga practice. After a while, the people were so impressed with Sri Aurobindo's wisdom that they asked him to be their spiritual leader. And that's how Sri Aurobindo became one of the most influential spiritual leaders of modern times!
