He was so passionate about this that he even had a special diet for his patients which included no meat, no spices, lots of plain food and lots of enemas! Despite his eccentricities, John Harvey Kellogg was an important figure in the history of nutrition and health food, and his legacy lives on in the form of the many breakfast cereals he created.
