Kids are our future, and we hope baseball has given them some idea of what it is to live together and how we can get along, whether you be black or white.

About Larry Doby

Lawrence Eugene Dobywas an American professional baseball player in the Negro leagues and Major League Baseballwho was the second black player to break baseball’s color barrier and the first black player in the American League. A native of Camden, South Carolina, and three-sport all-state athlete while in high school in Paterson, New Jersey, Doby accepted a basketball scholarship from Long Island University.
