Everytime we put a record out, we lose people that can’t deal with the growth.

Meaning of the quote

When a band releases a new album, some of their older fans may not like the changes or growth in the band's music. The band's sound or style might be different from what those fans are used to, so they stop supporting the band. The quote by Danish musician Lars Ulrich means that the band has to be willing to evolve and try new things, even if it means losing some of their original fans who don't want the band to change.
